Hello, my name is Steven Pessoa, the founder of Electric Grubb. I named this restaurant 'Electric Grubb ' as it really connected me the importance of a healthy eating lifestyle and was also inspired by the idea of 'Electric Food' which consists of the ideas that genetically modified food is not good for the body, and instead people should strive for a more healthy alkaline food base which will prevent diseases and heal the body faster. With Obesity on the rise I found it essential to have a restaurant that can provide delicious food whilst at the same time being healthy and supportive to the human body as without such a beautiful creation, what we know as life will cease to exist. Another main reason I created this restaurant was to bring joy upon unfortunate faces. I’ve been given a lot of good opportunities especially with my restaurant and with these opportunities I’ve been given, I find it important to give back to the community and aid others gain their opportunities to succeed. We are able to offer a variety of foods that consumers can adore and eat whilst also being a healthy base nutritional diet. We’ve been to many festivals in general but mainly have been exposed to different groups of customers in store, so are able to communicate well and connect with our customers no matter the age group which I find is an essential talent for a business to have. We’ve worked in many significant festivals and events such as Wireless, Nottingham carnival, 51st state festival, the spread in Victoria Park and the Glastonbury Festival; we also cater for the Hail Project for austic kids and adults and have even catered for the London Olympics in 2012. We also worked in important events like marriages and birthday parties being able to satisfy the consumers of our food. We have a lot of experience within the catering industry from the very beginning of our adventures to the very present, being able to adapt to circumstances and provide the best experience for the customer.

My journey started in Berlin back in 2013. I had been living there since 2012 as a photographer. Naumann Drei is a bar that is situated downstairs to the apartment where I was living, so I would often go there to do some post production work over a latte or Hefeweizen. I had the idea of doing a joint venture with the owners, to bring a different vibe to the bar, so I approached them to see if they were interested for me to do a pop up menu… they went for it. On the 25th August 2013 Food With Soul alongside Naumann Drei launched a pop menu. The menu list was: 1st Course … Corn Fritters 2nd Course… Ackee and Saltfish with Rice and Peas or Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas 3rd Course… Rum banana and Raisin Fritters with Ice Cream The Pop Up turned out to be a success. When I asked the customers at the end of the meal if they enjoyed it, the overall response was that the Fritters were favoured most of all. With this finding, I decided that the next food venture would solely be Fritters. My original idea was to set my Fritter business up in Berlin, but I decided to move back to London in 2015 and 3 years later Fritterly was launched at Victoria Park Finchley. Since launching in 2018, I have traded in Victoria Park Finchley, Wood Lane, Brook Green and Hammersmith Lyric Square. The full menu so far has been: Savoury Fritters Saltfish (traditional Caribbean) Fritters Spinach and Sweetcorn Fritters Carrot Coriander and Leek Fritters Sweet Potato Fritters The above are sold as meal box accompanied with Salad, Plantain chips and Hains Beans (a spicy tangy beans made by Hains) Sweet Fritters Banana Fritters Banana Run and Raisin Fritters Ginger and Coconut Fritters (Launching soon) Apple Strudel Fritters For the past two years I have streamlined my menu to include one vegan option meal box (spinach and sweetcorn), a Saltfish meal box and the Frittburger (which includes vegan, saltfish or mixed fritters in a brioche bun). All savoury options can be accompanied with Plantain chips, salad and Hains Beans. The sweet options include, Banana Fritters and Banana Rum and Raisin Fritters. What sets me apart from other suppliers, is that I offer a unique blend of Caribbean and European inspired hot food that caters for most major food allergies. I have received very positive responses from customers, not only about the combination of flavours, but also that their food allergies are catered for. I also accommodate for this in my use of cooking oil. Most vegetable oils are a blend that includes Soya. I only use Rapeseed oil to avoid any additional risk.
