Hello/Kaixo...
We are Aupa...A street food airstream trailer operated by Leire and I (Selina)... ‘Aupa’ means ‘Cheers’ / ‘Welcome’ in Euskera the language of Basque Country and the home of Leire. Those who know Basque country know exactly how important gastronomy (aka all things food) is to them.
After over a combined 17 years working in the hospitality, food & beverage management, we quit the daily grind and took to the road travelling over 10 thousand miles around Europe in our converted van. That year of our lives led to the conception of ‘Aupa’ our beautiful street food baby we have named ‘the little nugget’ (however this bares no relevance to the food we sell hehehe)... Aupa was born out of a passion for food and exploration through food...the ability to travel to places you have never been with a single bite is the ultimate goal. Heavily influenced by the Basque (A country situated in the western Pyrenees between France and Spain) cuisine , also adding touches of my own British/Arabic heritage’s food. We hope to be bring the freshest of local produce, unique flavours and colourful diversity to the streets, and with making the food we love with the defining final ingredient of ‘love’ to the people of Cumbria, the North and beyond.
