Basement 17 was forged in our tiny basement flat in Bristol during the covid pandemic. It started with tacos for our neighbours every Wednesday and has since evolved into a catering company with fire at its core. Carlos and Emily both share a passion for delivering the highest service and food. Carlos, originally from Mexico, draws on his childhood memories and love of Mexican flavours and combines this with local, seasonal produce from the South West to produce mouth-watering feasts. Carlos has worked in and run both Mexican and Mediterranean kitchens for many years and Emily has worked in management positions in pubs and cafes. What started with the spark of an idea one night has rapidly developed into the catering enterprise that we are today. Based in South Somerset, we now travel all over the South West bringing the flames to you. We are lucky enough to be surrounded by the freshest and best produce and source as much as we can from local suppliers. All our meat comes from Bagnell farm, our potatoes from our local grower and fish from Kingfisher of Brixham. We cater for anything from intimate parties to large weddings, corporate events, pop ups and street food festivals creating menus to suit each individual event and customer.

AROMA prides itself in using the most basic ingredients however with the most flavoursome result! I know it doesn’t sound possible but it’s true. We specialise ourselves in PICANHA steak which is a South American cut similar to sirloin (but more tender and juicier) and at the same time we use only local sourced meat (to reduce our CO2 impact) we also stay loyal to our Brazilian butcher who knows our meat and cuts. Steak and Chips may sound like a basic meal, but we make up for it in flavour and what makes us stand out amongst other competitors is that we cook to order, yes! That’s right. You will watch us grilling your steak right in front of you whilst you wait, and the smell is what attracts yet more customers. We do not use any oil or vegetable fat in our grill, so the steak is cooked in its own fat. Our story began over 10 years ago in a hill top restaurant in Tuscany, the wood fired oven was only fired up once a week, we'd been waiting all week for that night, it was to be the first of many wood fired pizzas. Starting as a street food venture, from their home kitchen in North London, in homage to their Nan, Nanny Bill and the cafe she ran in the '70s & '80s. Nanny Bill’s opened the hatch to its vintage food truck for the first time in Spring 2015, feeding the hungry patrons at East London food market Night Tales. Their signature ‘Mac & Cheese Croquettes’ caused quite a stir. Ciao, I'm Fabio and owner of Chill Gelato. Although I may not look or sound Italian I feel I've got best of both worlds having been born here in London to Italian parents. Food has played a big part of our family and I'm now carrying on the tradition with a modern take, offing an authentic gelato that happens to be vegan friendly. It all started in 2018 when I could no longer have dairy and being a big fan of ice cream the only dairy-free alternatives I found were icy sorbets. The journey began and have now created a true traditional gelato experience that is not only enjoyed by those on a plant based diet but by all. I work out of kitchen in SW London making small batched gelato (8 litres max) The beauty of this is, depending on the flavours picked, I can offer a free-from product which has been very popular in the past when trying to cater for a variety of dietary needs. Our fruit flavours use 100% fruit, no flavourings and love working with seasonal fruits where possible. I'll challenge anyone to clean and prep 6kg of fresh strawberries ready to churn. Bring it on!! I offer all the classics you would find in a gelateria minus the bright blue bubble gums etc, however I do have mint choc chip as this was my favourite as a child and still seems to be very popular today. You can find me serving out of my bright pink bike or cart anywhere from Putney Embankment to Bohemia Market place in Hackney. I've also worked at festivals, weddings, corporate events, kids parties and potted white label tubs. No job too big or too small.
