About Dosa Kitchen
We grew up on farms in the foothills of the Nilgiri Hills in Tamil Nadu. We are passionate about our food, it's provenance, and love introducing our food to folk who haven't tried it before. It's the food we grew up with. It's the food we serve our families. Dosa Kitchen originally started life as a pop-up residency in Newcastle’s west end. After weeks of queues around the corner, we decided to go prime time! We now operate a full-time award-winning restaurant in Newcastle, rock up in our food truck to the region's coolest events (Tynemouth Food Festival, Argie Bhaji at Wylam Brewery, Yorkshire Dales Food Festival, Tyne Valley Beer Festival, amongst others), and professionally cater for everything from birthdays to weddings and everything in between (including a two week stint catering for the Indian cricket team while they were on their last England tour) Expertly pairing vibrant, centuries-old recipes with locally sourced produce, our aim is to serve up simple, delicious and inventive dishes inspired by the Tamil Nadu region of South India. Much of our food is naturally gluten free, vegan or vegetarian, so there is absolutely something delicious for everyone, backed up by a 5 star hygiene rating!
