LIL WATAN

LIL WATAN is a term that roughly translates to "for the homeland" and is featured in the Lebanese national anthem, which was influenced by Beirut's exposure to Western culture in the late 19th century. As a global community, there are more Lebanese people living outside the country than inside, which drives our passion to bring authentic Lebanese food to those seeking it abroad. Our mission at LIL WATAN is to provide genuine Lebanese cuisine to anyone who has a lifelong craving for it after trying it just once, to homesick Lebanese seeking the authentic taste in every bite, and to those looking for a healthy culinary escape with Lebanese soul. We take pride in warning newcomers of the eternal craving our food will induce. What sets us apart? As Lao Tzu said, "Because she competes with no one, no one competes with her." Our Lady of Lebanon, a national symbol of the country, represents unwavering values and attracts millions of visitors. We don't need anyone to fail for us to succeed. We don't compete; we simply move forward with our land in mind. We are Lebanese and proud of it. Our food features freshly made pita bread from Lebanese bakeries, halal chicken from Lebanese butchers, and vegetables from Lebanese grocers. It is prepared and sold by Lebanese, but enjoyed by everyone. Abed and Karim, who have lived in Beirut for over half a century, naturally create the most authentic Lebanese street food possible.
