About The Pig Apple
Like any great idea, the Pig Apple was devised in 2014 during a chat amongst friends over cold pint! Ben, who was the man with the idea, wanted to create a Hog Roast that wasn't just a butcher in a tent carving pork into floury baps! For him, presentation was just as important as the quality of the food. Several pints later and a decision on a catchy name, The Pig Apple was born! They have been feeding hungry crowds across the West Country the most delicious slow cooked meat ever since. From artisan bakers to local butchers and greengrocers, they have forged relationships with the best local independent suppliers around their South Devon base, ensuring that as well as the meat, their buns and homemade salads are equally as delicious. Their free range pigs are slow roasted for 8-10 hours giving the most succulent and flavoursome pork. Accompanied with a herb stuffing and warm cider apple chutney, it's a marriage made in heaven! The menu isn't just limited to roasting pigs - in a nod to the American BBQ your guests can enjoy smoked Westcountry meat buns and sliders including cider-infused smoked pork shoulder, or the incredible cured and smoked hot pastrami in a homemade New York style bagel. Pig in a bun
Slow roasted free range Wessex saddlebacks, carved into artisan light brioche or malted buns, with a warm cider apple chutney and herb stuffing plus a red cabbage & fennel slaw and rocket leaves
Smoked 'pulled' pork
Pork shoulder, steeped in cider for 3 days, coated in a herb and spice blend then hot smoked over applewood. Pulled and served in toasted buns with a cider apple chutney, red cabbage slaw, rocket & pickles
Hot Pastrami
Thinly sliced beef brisket pastrami, flash grilled with Swiss cheese served with sweet mustard, rocket leaves, pink pickled onions and gherkins. Great in toasted NY bagels or buns
Homemade Salads
A variety of hand prepped organic salads including potato salad with radish, dijon and chives, a Greek leaf with feta, Kalamata olives homemade croutons. All salads are served with homemade dressings
