Our quick-fire considerations when hiring a manor house or country venues.

1. Exclusive use vs shared spaces

Make sure to understand whether the venue offers exclusive use for your wedding day or if other events may be happening simultaneously. Boutique barns on private land, farmhouse estates and smaller country estates will usually be for exclusive hire. You're more likely to encounter shared spaces with bigger country estates, manor houses and hotels.

2. Logistics and noise restrictions

Rural venues may be subject to limitations on noise levels or event timing due to local regulations. It's best to confirm these details as soon as you can to avoid surprises in the planning process. Logistically, some venues allocate specific times for setup and cleanup, there's things like overnight storage to consider and most importantly, you'll want to consider proximity to local accommodation.

3. On-site coordination

Some manor houses include a dedicated coordinator to assist with planning and execution. It's worth asking this question and clarifying if it's an option whether it comes at an additional cost.
