Want to make your company's summer party stand out this year? Well you’re in the right place. There’s plenty of good articles out there detailing the latest corporate event trends, our own included. One such trend that we are seeing in 2024 is the desire for event planners to host unique events, stand out and impress. So that got us thinking, we’re fully in the swing of summer parties so why not give a glimpse at what’s popular, what’s standing out and ultimately what is going to impress your guests. Get ready for the hottest new street food suppliers making a noise on the scene, rooftop venues you’ve not yet discovered and a couple of smaller quirks that will set you apart.
Venues that are standing out
Since your summer party is likely to start with finding a venue, we thought this would be the place to start. Be it a bar, blank canvas space or hotel, here’s what we’re noticing this year.
Rooftops are on the rise
Rooftops are always popular for summer party locations but this year we’re seeing it more pronounced. Perhaps it’s because we’re depressingly fed up with what feels like constant rain from September last year and we want to get out in the sun again. Perhaps it’s because we’ve got some awesome rooftop venues like Bubba Oasis, The Lucky Club and SKY Guild Rooftop on the platform. Whatever the reason, spectacular views are always going to impress and demand on our platform is up nearly 3x year on year.
It’s not just rooftops
Securing a rooftop of your choice can be tricky given the high demand. You can check out our summer party offering and learn how to get ahead of the game with Togather but we do also see a spike in other venue searches too. Bars and outdoor venues unsurprisingly are on the rise. Some of our most viewed profiles include Barge East and the Golden Hinde, two very different but equally impressive boat options for your party this year.
Trending Venues in 2024
Who’s got the most eyes on and who’s in demand? One sure fired way to find a venue that impresses is to spot the latest trend and who’s popular. We’ve looked at our web page data to find the top 5 venues in terms of profile views.
Most requested suppliers
This top 5 venue trend got us thinking. Who are the most in demand summer party suppliers for 2024. We’ve added a twist here though…along with taking the most viewed profiles on our platform we’ve spoken to our team of event experts who are managing the 100s of summer party requests we currently have in the platform to make sure the suppliers on this list stand out in some way. So using a mix of our data along with our expert opinion and in no particular order, here are the suppliers you should have on your books this summer.
1. Bubba Oasis
Featured for the 3rd time now, spectacular summer vibes from their islington rooftop and as quoted by Abby in our team “here for a good time”.
2. Antonino's Pizza
Our most viewed pizza profile and a stand out amongst our team.
3. Chop and Chip
On the list as a top street food all rounder. Burgers, fried chicken, chips, thai-inspired…these guys cover it all.
4. Alaburrito
The Mexican trend is in full swing in 2024 and these guys make the cut for not only their food but also their location. If you’re reading in the North or Scotland, Alaburrito is the supplier for you
5. Three Little Pigs
On the list not only for their profile views and culinary diversity (Three Little Pigs are all things BBQ), but also their budget friendly options.
6. Terra Trattoria
A great option for vegetarians and a highly viewed profile, probably because of their insanely instagrammable food.
7. Pink Cactus
A Togather long timer. These guys have been nailing Mexican food for the best part of a decade.
8. Sizzlin Street Eats
Simply a stand out for top of the class BBQ food. Their pork ribs alone are probably enough to get them on the list.
9. Wine Tap Van
As the name suggests, wine on tap. Is there anything else you need at your summer party this year?
10. Kombi Keg
Probably one of the best looking mobile bars on our platform with a variety of drinks to match.
Ice Cream is a quick and easy win
We see the same trend every year both in our data and the wider market. Google trends sees spikes in ice cream van hire between May and July every year. We’ve seen the start of this spike in the requests coming into our platform, with the number of requests for ice cream truck hire 3x higher than March currently. If we see the same trend as 2023 pan out, then this volume will double in July.
We’re not talking Mr Whippy here though. With the potential of branded ice creams, unique and quirky trucks, having the likes of Jack’s Gelato, Pan n Ice, Fluffy Puffin, or Rolly’s Ice Cream at your next event is a great way to impress and engage guests.
Asian Cuisine is on the rise
BBQ, Pizza and Burgers are always popular but this year we’re seeing an interesting rise in summer party requests looking for Asian cuisines. Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Korean and Indian are all in the top 10 biggest movers - cuisine types that have grown in popularity year on year.
You can check out our top Asian caterers for your summer party but some stand outs include KoKoDoo, Kang Foo Noodles, VietVan and Chubby Dumpling.
