This year they decided to get on the road and created a mobile coffee vehicle. Powered by a 15KvA super-silent internal generator, they can pitch up and make fantastic coffee to large crowds all day long. The wonderful bakery Jacques and Lilie was created in 2015 by outrageously talented Amandine and Paul, grandchildren of well-respected bakers in the South West of France. They grew up in a house surrounded by scrumptious cakes and tasty treats (it doesn't sound bad) and decided, thankfully for us, to work together to follow in their grandparents’ footsteps using the cherished recipes from their childhood. They reintroduced some of the great classic cakes as well as spicing up some of the old recipes with fresh and exotic flavours. Their creations are beyond superb and include classic Madeleines, Cannelés, Walnut Tartelettes and the Coeur Coco, a delicious coconut cake in a heart shape that hides an irresistible chocolate ganache at the centre. Their Cannelés Croquembouche tower, packed with delicious cannelé cakes, is a great and easy way for you and your guests to enjoy bite-size sweet treats. We took a leap of faith and we've never looked back. In addition to our gorgeous little van which can used indoors too, we now have two other coffee carts ,too. All are fully brandable. Our coffee has secured us some fantastic repeat work and that's not only because it's a stunning coffee but also the love and care that goes into making each and every drink doesn't go unnoticed. Our hot chocolate is stunning too and has the added benefit of being gluten and vegan friendly, so it ticks all the boxes. All our other ingredients are of the highest quality. For most of my life I have lived in London playing and teaching the tuba. In 2020, after many years of gentle persuasion, my Geordie wife finally came around to my way of thinking and agreed that the time was right for us to move back to Whitley Bay with our daughter and get a dog. The only remaining hurdle in our new life was what will I do? Well, this is it! Since discovering some fantastic mobile coffee enterprises and many conversations with their owners, I decided this would be the next chapter in my new life in the glorious North East. I take great pride in the fact that nearly all of my suppliers are small enterprises that I have a direct relationship with. The coffee, roasted in North Shields by Aussie Alex Forsyth at Baristocracy, the chocolate, curated by Jazmin in Byker at Cacao Brew, the milk supplied by Graham and Caroline at the Acorn Dairy and the tea comes from a little further away supplied by Pranav at Nemi Teas. I serve largely espresso based drinks, although drinking chocolates and teas are also available, all from a converted 1969 Fisher Holivan that really stands out from the crowd and receives endless compliments when I'm out and about. Being the owner-operator means I am the one that attends your event and no one cares more about my customers than me. If you are looking for that independent coffee house quality then look no further. I've collaborated with everything from corporate events to school sports days and weddings to food and music festivals and everything in between.
