The Reading Room

Located on the ground floor, the Reading Room is perfect for weddings, canape receptions, seminars and private dinners. The room is incredibly spacious and versatile with a wedding license, fixed speakers and a built-in PA system. Abundant natural light and a high, vaulted ceiling complement the rich colour scheme and the beautiful gilded wooden gallery and leather-bound books add to the dramatic grandeur of the room. It’s fireplace frieze was carved by Gilbert Bayes, best known for his work on the Queen of Time clock located above the Selfridges main entrance.

The Common Room

Walk up the sweeping marble staircase and you arrive at our largest and most prestigious room. The David Lloyd George and Dining Room

The David Lloyd George Room was originally the council chamber for the Law Society and is perfect for presentations and meetings. It is also licensed for weddings and is delightful for intimate ceremonies and dinners. Flooded with daylight by the double height windows, this opulent space, adorned with grand chandeliers, silk curtains, oak panelling and an elegant gold and blue colour scheme, has the added benefit of an ante room with bar and catering area, making this a fully private area that also boasts the fact that it is soundproofed throughout.

The Old Bookshop

Once the Law Society’s personal bookstore, The Old Bookshop is an ideal meeting room for smaller workshops, board meetings, training sessions or as a break out room. The room is well equipped with a fixed screen and projector. Smartly but simply decorated, with antique English oak panelling taken from the Hall of the Honourable Society of New Inn which was built around 1531, the room is bathed in natural light and discreetly tucked away by the main entrance.
