After working in speciality coffee shops for almost 10 years, i'm passionate in bringing this same high quality and standard to any location you desire. We currently have 4 vehicles; a Vintage Truck (an ex French bread van) , a vintage horse trailer and 2 retro Japanese mini-vans. This range of vehicles means we can service pretty much any event, big or small. Our mini vans are entirely self sufficient and require no external power or water connection. We are proud to have many happy clients including Wakehurst Kew, The National Trust, Deloitte, Oxford International School, Shambala Festival, Travel Places, Elderflower Fields Festival & Atticus Films We use only the best Sussex produce possible, sourced from local suppliers. Our coffee is roasted especially for us by our friends at Tiger Moth in Lewes, using beans sourced from Raw Material, a social enterprise that invests 100 per cent of their profit back to coffee producers through payments for coffee and investments in the community . A well as great coffee we haver a fantastic tange of super high quality teas, hot chocolates, chai & other beverages. We source great fresh pastries & cakes from our local bakery and make our own cold-pressed juices & breakfast pots.

My aim with this bus is to provide a classy and luxuriously finished article that can provide a vintage style bar for all types of events. Our RML (Routemaster Lengthened) is totally unique and has been constructed to be able to deal with an extremely high volume. The bar has been tried, tested and really works. It can comfortably run 5/6 staff at the same time yet also be easily operated with fewer staff members, for smaller events. The wow factor is in the details. She’s been finished to a very high standard and is meticulously maintained. Being a classic vehicle collector and enthusiast myself I have taken every precaution to keep RML2355 as original as possible. This is where our bus really stands out above the few others around. She's a British icon and she shall remain that.

Our chosen name "LAKEM" comes from the initials of our children we have between us. We love a quirky vehicle, especially if it's vintage, and we also love coffee! So we just had to combine the two! We have 5 vehicles in total of various sizes. Our first and largest is Tiger Lily, our bus, she is what we started the business with so we named the business after her. She is one of a kind. Born in the 1950's and beautifully restored. The glorious roof light windows create a wonderful ambience inside to enjoy whilst sitting at any one of their four seating booths. Two of the side windows open up with steps up to the windows so that they can also serve directly to the outside too. With 6 fridges and a hot water urn, she can be adaptable for any event as long (as there is lots of space. No power steering!) as she is a great blank canvas for private hire. The next in size is our Fire tender Bootle Billy. With two large 3 group coffee machines. This has been designed for large number events in order to serve a lot of coffee's in a short space of time but always with a smile and fantastic quality. Keeping queues to a minimum. The next size down are our two milk floats. Morris and Winnie. The original electric vehicles! Both have 2 group Fracino coffee machines on board and hot water urns to make service very efficient. Then we have Babyccino our Subaru Sambar. It looks like a baby VW Camper in disguise. She also has a 2 group Fracino machine on board and can be totally self sufficient without having to plug into mains electricity if required. But she is so lovely that no-one puts Baby in the corner! Then lockdown eased off and then got busier and busier! Since 2009, Browns of Brockley have owned and operated a great little coffee shop in South East London, winning numerous accolades. This year they decided to get on the road and created a mobile coffee vehicle. What’s different about their coffee vehicle to the hundreds, if not thousands, of others out there, is that they can go anywhere. Powered by a 15KvA super-silent internal generator, they can pitch up and make fantastic coffee to large crowds all day long.
