About Doherty Photography
Hi, my name is Andy and I’m a creative, professional photographer based near Coventry, England, and offer honest and innovative wedding photography to my clients. I’m privileged to play such a significant part of this special day in people’s lives. I also photograph commercial, corporate events and portrait photography. Most of my photography is covered in and around the UK, but I also photograph international destinations for some weddings. My photography has a relaxed and informal approach, with an emphasis on creativity and style ensuring a beautiful collection of images capturing the moments. A long standing member of the The British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) and have been working in photography for over 20 years. In my teenage years I could be found with a camera as I had the bug early on shooting mainly on black and white. I converted a spare room at my parents house in to a darkroom, developing black and white films and watching amazed at the process of developing prints in trays under the red light. How times have changed. In my early working days as a photographer, I travelled around the UK and America on portrait assignments for a make-over portrait company. Later I set up on my own as Doherty Photography and have never looked back. As my business and experience has grown, so has my own family, now with a wife and three children. Wedding Photohgraphy
I’m a natural storytelling wedding photographer based near Coventry. With over 20 years in the photography industry has provided me with the experience to develop a unique storytelling and natural style. My approach is unobtrusive and discreet, blending in with your wedding guests. Often the best photos I take are when they don’t realise they’ve been taken. I’ll tell the story of your day, through candid, unposed images known as documentary photography. This allows you to enjoy your wedding day without being fussed. Family photos are important for most couples so I will efficiently direct group photographs and of course some special couple portraits during the day.
