I'm Maria, a London based events photographer. I take pictures for self-confessed party animals - and when nobody's watching, I join in on the dancing! I first fell in love with events photography while living in Cambridge, where I had the joy of photographing several university balls. Ever since, I've been encountering more silent discos and terrible ABBA remixes than the average person would in a lifetime, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I specialise in flash photography, dance floor snaps, and retro-style black and white edits. If you love the look of 80s and 90s club photography with a 21st century twist - I'm the one for you. And if you're totally committed to all things retro, I also shoot 35mm film. I primarily photograph private and corporate parties, though I also love chilled out weddings with an emphasis on dancing. I'm committed to an almost totally candid approach, so besides the odd group picture, I'm capturing everything as it unfolds. One of my favourite photographers, Annie Leibovitz, says a lot can be told from what happens in between the main moments. These in-betweens precisely is what I strive to capture.
