At Smashed, we believe that the London burger scene has become stagnant, repetitive and quite frankly, boring. Too much of the same competition: thick patties, piled high with ungainly toppings housed in a brioche bun has led to the market becoming overly saturated with little innovation and change. We are disrupting the market by bringing an entirely new burger concept to consumers. We serve dry aged beef, smashed wafer thin into the grill creating the Maillard reaction, a chemical change in the amino acids and sugars present in food leading to thousands of aromatic, flavour and textural changes. Our burgers are crisp and crusty, intensely beefy due to using dry aged beef. We serve these in Potato rolls - the ubiquitous bun in America but lesser known in the UK.
