Archchi’s was founded by myself, Chloe, and my husband Mark to share the vibrant flavours of my Sri Lankan heritage. The name “Archchi” (pronounced ar-chee) means Grandma in Sinhala, and it’s a nod to the generations of recipes passed down through our family. I grew up surrounded by the food of Sri Lanka, both at home and during trips to visit family on the island, and Archchi’s was created to bring that same warmth and flavour to people here in the UK.
Along the way, we’ve been honoured with awards including Best Snack in Britain at the British Street Food Awards, Northern Young Street Food Trader, and featured on Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch.
We specialise in authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry, with every element homemade from scratch using family recipes. Guests can expect fragrant rice, slow-cooked curries, and vibrant condiments that celebrate the flavours of the island. Our set-up is flexible to suit your event: we can serve from our gazebo decorated with fairy lights for a street-food style experience, create a buffet where guests help themselves, or offer family-style dining with dishes placed at tables for sharing. Whatever the format, we’re committed to using fresh ingredients, authentic cooking methods and a warm, professional service.
We love catering weddings, private parties and corporate events, and always tailor the food and service to fit what you’re looking for.
