Founded in London in the summer of 2021, sear. was born from a love of exceptional ingredients and a frustration with the industrial shortcuts dominating modern food. Our mission is simple: serve nourishing, honest food that’s full of flavour and made with respect—for the ingredients, for the craft, and for the people we serve.
Our menu showcases the very best of British produce—featuring free range, grass-fed sustainable beef, tender spring lamb, crispy free-range gunpowder chicken, smokey aubergine, and buttery halloumi, all served on soft flatbreads, in hearty sandwiches, or alongside our legendary beef dripping fries; cooked the way they used to be. Every element is chosen for quality, flavour, and integrity. We source all our meats locally and we work closely with artisan bakers and small producers to create custom flatbreads, buns, and sides that elevate every dish.

That’s right—no vegetable oils, no ultra-processed junk, and no industrial fillers. We cook with beef dripping, butter, and extra virgin olive oil—the way food was meant to be made.
Our sauces, dressings and gravy are all made in-house, from scratch, using real, whole ingredients. From our vibrant chimichurri and garlic aioli to our slow-simmered bone marrow gravy, every bite is packed with depth, honesty, and care.
Since launching, we’ve successfully catered for crowds of all sizes—serving up to 2,000 covers a day without ever sacrificing quality. Our offering is flexible, inclusive, and crowd-pleasing: from intricate meal boxes to our indulgent sharing platter The Butcher’s Block, we cater to meat lovers and vegetarians alike with equal attention and love.
