Buddha Events Ltd T/A El Ray Del Taco

5.9 miles from Teignmouth
At Buddha Events (T/A El Ray Del Taco), we specialise in authentic masa tacos, nachos, fries and burgers, topped with stunning produce from Devon organic family farms (sourced within 15 miles of our HQ). Our menu is split 50/50 between Devon bred rare breed meats and stunning plant based dishes. Our entire menu is gluten free and we also pride ourselves on making all of our own punchy sauces, marinades, pickles and salsas. We have a huge ethical bias in the sourcing of all of our own ingredients and all of our meat is from long lived Devon rare breeds, which are slow reared on organic farms. As well as giving these animals a longer and more fulfilling life, it also delivers a significantly better flavour. We operate from a 3m x 3m gazebo and can serve on or off grid. We have traded at many events both small and large (from private functions of 20 people up to festivals such as Glastonbury with over 100,000).

Pizza Pirates

More than a pizza place: we are a not-for-profit, certified social enterprise. We create artisan sourdough pizzas for community events, weddings, corporate events, markets and celebrations of all kinds. Our staff are friendly, fun and put on a great show when stretching, topping and cooking each pizza to order in our mobile wood-fired oven. All our dough is made by hand and slow-fermented using traditional methods for depth of flavour and easy digestion. Our sourdough starter began its life over 100 years ago in Tasmania, and has made an epic journey over the high seas to lend its complex and delicious flavour to every pizza we make. Our menu changes with the seasons, and wherever possible we use local suppliers to source our ingredients. We can tailor our menu to suit you; we recommend seasonal options, or we can create something bespoke, tailored to your needs. Want something to stand out at your event? Then you'll love our beautifully converted vintage horse-box set-up. If you want the authentic, wood-fired approach, or access is an issue, then we can bring our gazebo set-up. Both options can be run totally off-grid, so if your event is happening somewhere without power and water options, you can still get our banging pizzas! Moreover, we are Pizza With Purpose; all profits from the sale of our pizzas go to paying our staff a fair wage and supporting our community work. We run pizza-making workshops for people in recovery, and a men’s mental health group called "Dough Bro's". We're passionate about using our pizza to bring joy, hope and resilience into peoples lives...and we do it while having a great time!

Myself and Debbie started Buen Apetito on our return to the UK, having spent nearly nine years looking after the many VIP's frequenting Ibiza and Formentera between 2000 and 2009, with a fabulous team. We took care of literally 100's of clients over those years, including regular clients..... P Diddy, Mick Jagger, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Princess Beatrice & Princess Eugenie, Simon Le Bon, Paris Hilton, Tiesto, Ronaldo, Primal Scream, Hugh Grant, Jade Jagger, Kate Moss, Jamie Oliver, Sadie Frost, Wayne Rooney, Charlotte Tilbury, Nat Rothchild, James Blunt, Sienna Miller, numerous further Actors and Actresses, DJ's, footballers and Musicians, the list really does go on and on and on! The many sleepless summers took their toll and we finally sold up and returned to the UK. Fast forward to 2014 when we introduced our children to Buen Apetito, fast forward again to 2021 and we are proud to now have our daughters and their partners running the business alongside us, Natasha taking care of staff, whilst also carrying out 'Front of House' duties on the day, Joshua, Johnny and myself, creating all that our menu offers and Dina also assisting with FOH duties too. Not forgetting my wonderful wife Debbie, usually behind the scenes creating the delicious canapes and the many other tasks for the day. We have been doing this too long to put pressure on you to book us, so relax, you are in great, friendly, family hands! We will offer a quote based on your details, we will then send our full colour brochure which gives you everything you need to consider us! The Original Pasty House

From £8 per head

The Original Pasty House

12.0 miles from Teignmouth
History Steve and Emma met behind the Other Stage at Glastonbury in 2007, both driving for bands – Steve for Arcade Fire, Emma for Rufus Wainwright. After several festivals together, they parted ways but reunited in 2020. In 2022, they combined Emma’s catering expertise and Steve’s festival experience to launch a catering trailer, inspired by The Original Pasty House restaurants. The Food Emma prioritizes locally sourced, sustainable ingredients. Running two large pasty shops, it was crucial to find the right partnership that had the same ethos as her, could deliver the quantities required, and would make each pasty, by hand, to The Original Pasty House specific recipe. It was also crucial to deliver proper Cornish Pasties; the Cornish Pasty is registered under a scheme with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status. In short, there are several indicators to ensure pasties are Cornish! “We don’t buy mass produced pasties found in many wholesalers, that our competitors often use. Our Cornish pasties come from a bakery based in Indian Queens (near Newquay) called Just Cornish.” Newly started in 2020, mother and son duo, Helen and Sean decided to take on the challenge of producing local Cornish goods employing family and friends. They source all ingredients locally, using Edley for their veg, and Mark for the meat. Both based locally in Redruth. They provide sustainable and higher welfare products which fit with both businesses’ ethos each pasty is handmade, and the quality is consistent all year round. All The Original Pasty House pasties are specifically made for them, to their individual recipe, and they are proud of how much people love them! Alongside traditional steak pasties, a range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are also provided. The prices are reasonable, with pasties under £6 and meal deals under £10, reflecting their ethos of aƯordable quality. Customer Service, Inclusivity & Disability Awareness Emma’s experience in the ambulance service shapes their customer focus, with all staƯ trained in food hygiene, allergen awareness, and disability awareness and inclusion. It means all staƯ recognise and respect customers that may need extra support with a disability, or neurodivergence. They use a mobile hearing induction loop to assist hearing-impaired customers, ensuring accessibility for all at noisy events like festivals. Allergen Awareness and Choice The Original Pasty House is completely nut-free, and gluten-free products are prepared separately oƯ site to avoid contamination. Vegan pasties are made from wholesome vegetables, and vegetarian options use locally sourced Cornish cheddar. All staƯ are trained in allergen awareness. Allergen updates are received directly via updates from suppliers. On top of this, allergen matrices are reviewed as standard every 6 months and updated where necessary. Any new supplier info is added before a product goes out and matrices are available to all customers. Sustainability Opting for biodegradable or compostable packaging and utensils minimizes waste, while sourcing ingredients locally supports nearby farmers and cuts down on transportation emissions. Water conservation systems, like low-flow sinks also help reduce usage. Additionally, proper waste management, including recycling and composting food scraps, ensures that the trailer operates with minimal environmental impact, promoting a greener, more sustainable food service. The Experience With Emma’s catering background and Steve’s event expertise, their trailer has served thousands at major events like county shows and music festivals. They oƯer high-quality food, exceptional service, and inclusivity for all attendees.
